creating deer bedding area

Im on 13 acres the front of my property has about 2-3 acres of about 15'-20' cedars. i am considering hinging a number of these trees to creat beds and allow more light onto the ground. could i also plant other trees and bushes to help thicken area up or just let nature take its course?

We also have some good resources on attracting deer that might help as well.  You might also consider talking with a local wildlife biologist who can evaluate your land, the surrounding deer habitat and make recommendations specific for you and the deer in your community.
