Wildlife Biologist: Brandon Bobo

My Alabama Woods Wildlife Biologist: Brandon Bobo

Meet Brandon Bobo

My name is Brandon Bobo; I am 30 years old and a native of Oxford, AL.  I was raised on a farm working and in the woods hunting with my father and grandfather.  I have a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in Wildlife Sciences.  I have a beautiful wife named Ashley who I have been married to for four years now, and we have a three year old precious little girl named Karlie.

I moved to Brandon, MS in February 2013 to serve as the Mississippi Regional Biologist for the National Wild Turkey Federation.  I was recently presented with the opportunity to take over the Alabama Regional Biologist position in September of 2014, and I am excited to announce that I am now living back home in Oxford, AL.  I have had the privilege of knowing the career path I wanted to take since the time I was in high school.  I thoroughly enjoy getting into the field and on the ground helping out landowners and land managers wherever I can.  Working for NWTF is very rewarding for me as a biologist, because they place great emphasis on assisting the private landowner.  Over the past three years I have established working relationships with countless landowners in both Mississippi and Alabama by performing site visits, giving technical assistance, and providing management plans for their property.  I have helped coordinate and presented at landowner outreach field days regarding subjects such as longleaf pine restoration, prescribed fire and wildlife habitat enhancement.

I have also served on the Mississippi Longleaf Council and the Mississippi Prescribed Fire Council, the Alabama Turkey Committee and the Talladega Longleaf Implementation Team.  I routinely work with state agencies in MS and AL as well as USFS, USF&WS, MFC, AFC, MFA, MSU Extension, AL Cooperative Extension Services, AWF, TNC, MWF, and several other vital partners.  Please do not hesitate to contact me for anything that you may need, albeit technical assistance, cooperative opportunities for partnership, or just good conversation.

I am very optimistic about meeting and working with all of you in the near future.
