ACEP: Agricultural Conservation Easement Program

• Who: landowners whose property includes agricultural land and wetlands.
• What: helps farmers and ranchers protect prime, unique or otherwise important farmland through permanent conservation easements; woodland owners can receive assistance if their woods contribute to or protect the economic security of the agricultural operation.
• Where: all states.
• How: ACEP provides up to 50 percent of the fair market value of the conservation easement.
• Which federal agency: USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS)
