Azimuth Forestry provides ecologically sound land management from the free initial site walk to achieving the desired future condition of your property.
Education:
I have a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.
Experience:
I have worked for 6 years in forest, prairie and oak savanna environments of Southern Wisconsin. Primarily my focus has been on controlling invasive species while rehabilitating the strength of native communities. Previous control measures have utilized prescribed fire, herbicide applications, mechanical (chainsaw, brush-cutting or mowing) & cultural (hand pulling) means. Rehabilitation efforts have included following up control efforts with seeding and planting of native species and more control as previously described. I have also done timberstand improvements, large pruning projects, whole-tree chipping operations, as well as trail planning, creation & maintenance. Several projects have been long-term (>1 year), many have been short-term (1 year or less), depending on the goals & objectives of the landowner. Now, to utilize my degree I am marking timber, conducting forest inventories and mapping, and writing forest stewardship plans. Managed Forest Law (MFL) plan writing certification is coming soon!
