Depending on your objectives, capabilities and situation, a gas line can be useful in enhancing wildlife habitat as an excellent place for a food plot.  Whether or not you hunt, these right-of-ways can be converted to supplemental feeding areas for any number of game species if you have the equipment necessary for such activities or know someone who does.

A right-of-way could also be a possible location for fruit production such as blueberries or other low-growing vegetation but it would be wise to check with the relevant gas utility company before investing your time and money into establishment of any plantings other than grasses.  They may deny permission for any activities that “interfere with” their ability to inspect and maintain their right-of-way.  Hope this helps give you some ideas.
