should seller settlement checks be delivered to seller agent?

I have a timber contract that list 92percent be paid to seller and 8 percent be paid to agent. Should the buyer make the 92 percent checks out to the seller and the 8 percent checks out to the agent? And should all checks go to the seller first?

As a forester I usually have a contract with the landowner that authorizes me to act as thier agent.  Payments and mill tickets come to me.  I verify removals, compare them to my field observation and the in woods security cameras.  After verification payments along with weekly settlement statements are made to the landowner at the specified contract rate.  The landowner is encourage if available to have an active role in the process.
