I would like to make my 60 acre hunting property better, what are some ways to draw in deer?

To get specific advice for your property, a professional forester or wildlife biologist needs to see what you have to work with.  There are several things you can do to entice deer to spend more time on your property.  Putting in small wildlife ponds is a big help, which benefits other species as well.  Deer will take water there, but also it is a place for them to socialize.  Food plots are another draw.  They don't have to be large, just have some good browse the deer don't have readily available otherwise.  If you live in an area where there is a lot of row cropping, putting in soybeans or corn probably won't do you much good.  Just plain ladino clover is a good green browse to put in, mixed with some orchard grass is even better.  You don't have to buy the expensive mixes.  If you have woodlands, creating small group openings is a good deer browse draw.  You really need to have a professional look at your property for specifics.
