It is highly unlikely that you'll find any timber buyer interested in taking the time to look at a dozen trees, much less move equipment in, harvest the trees, and make any amount of payment to you.  It sounds like it may be an urban environment, with houses, over head lines, or other improvements that could pose hazards in falling as well.  I would suggest you seek out a landscape firm or Certified Arborist to help you take the trees down safely.  Be sure that they are insured before you hire them.  You can have them pile the logs where you can cut them up for firewood later, if you wish.
