Your Windstorm Resources Guide
Foresters can be a great resource after a windstorm.
If your woods have sustained windstorm damage, there’s no reason to deal with that damage alone. Professional assistance and government aid are available to help you. Contact:
- Your county, district or consulting forester
- Your local USDA Farm Service Agency state center
- Your Cooperative Extension Service local office
- The Mississippi State University Department of Forestery has developed the Windwoodutilization.org site that also includes useful resources for landowners.
- The FSA Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP), in case you qualify for reforestation funds
- A trusted accountant, in case you qualify to write off part of your lost or damaged timber on your income taxes
