When You Have a Multiflora Rose Outbreak

You can stop multiflora rose from completely taking over your woods.

• Cut it down. You can kill multiflora rose by cutting or mowing the plants down three to six times per growing season, every year for two to four years.
• Herbicides. Some herbicides kill multiflora rose. The treatment will have to be done more than once because seeds in the soil will sprout later.
• Cut and herbicide. Applying a systemic herbicide like glyphosate (aka Roundup) to freshly-cut stems may help control the growth.
