FWS: The US Fish and Wildlife Service.  FWS is a bureau of the Department of the Interior. 

"The FWS works with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of American people."

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) protects imperiled species and helps with their recovery and that of the ecosystems which they depend on.  The US Fish and Wildlife Service administers the ESA.  They have developed resources to help landowners understand the ESA:
