Here's Your Checklist for Prevention:

• Watch out. Keep an eye out for signs of Asian Longhorned Beetle in your woods. You could be the first to discover them in your area.
• Don't move firewood. Asian Longhorned Beetles, their larvae, and eggs can live in firewood, and moving firewood can bring them to new areas. You should never take firewood more than 50 miles from its origin, because moving firewood can spread many forest pests.

Whether you’re trying to prevent an infestation or stopping an existing infestation, you don’t have to go it alone. State, county or consulting foresters, the Forest Service or your local cooperative extension service can all help you protect your woods and preserve your forest legacy.
