CSP: Conservation Stewardship Program

• Who: landowners who have made at least one “improvement” (prescribed thinning, tree planting, etc.) in the past 10 years.
• What: encourages landowners to begin, improve or maintain conservation activities that protect the property’s soil, water and natural resources.
• Where: all states.
• How: CSP pays up to $200,000 for all contracts entered over a 5-year period.
• Which federal agency: USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS)
