I have been working as a Senior Forester with the Florida Forest Service since 2010. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in forestry, my first job was a temporary position with the US Forest Service in Louisiana. After 9 months, I was hired by the Kentucky Division of Forestry and worked as a forester. After 5 years in this position, my wife and I decided we had seen enough snow and ice in Kentucky, so I applied for and was offered a position in Florida.
I enjoy travelling, outdoor recreation, and spending time with my family. I enjoy working with landowners and helping them manage their property. I have developed strong working relationships with many landowners who have come to depend on me for guidance, information, and resources concerning the management of their property. My favorite part of my job is conducting prescribed burns on the forestland of landowners I work with. This gives me the opportunity to implement management practices that will enhance and improve the condition of their land.
