Forester: Philip Garrett
Calhoun County Senior Forester, Philip Garrett:
I’ve worked with the Florida Forest Service since 2013 doing everything from fighting wildfire as a Forest Ranger to cruising timber as a State Lands Forester. Starting in 2016, I was fortunate enough to become the Calhoun County Senior Forester. In addition, I interned for the Northwest Water Management Lands Division for 3 years while earning a degree in Forest Resources and Conservation from the University of Florida.
I’ve been very blessed to work with and help many great landowners in Calhoun County. I really enjoy meeting and discussing forest management with landowners, looking at their property and helping them meet their management objectives. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me working on the historic home my wife and I purchased. Other hobbies I enjoy are helping my dad manage the family farm, hunting, fishing, kayaking and camping. I’m very fortunate to live and work in the same area of Florida I was born and raised.
