Nicole Howard, Hernando County Sr. Forester, Florida Forest Service
I earned my Forest Management degree from the University of Florida in 2003. Soon after I began working for the Florida Forest Service and I have been with them for 13 years. I have been a County Forester for a total of 10 years, 7 years as the Bradford County Forester and the last three years as the Hernando County Forester.
My husband and I moved back to the Hernando County area because we both grew up here. We love the area and we are glad to be near family again. My favorite part of my job is working with private forest landowners. It brings joy to my heart to see landowners working towards enhancing and maintaining a healthy forest on their land.
