Forester: Stan Shepard
Stan Shepard, Senior Forester, Florida Forest Service
I am a fifth generation native Floridian from the Greensboro/Quincy area. I am a graduate of the University of Florida School of Forest Resources & Conservation. My career with the Florida Division of Forestry began in 1987 in Gainesville. I was the Bradford County Forester for 15 years. I worked in Taylor/Dixie Counties until 2007 and am currently the Senior Forester for Columbia County.
I spend my spare time hiking, enjoying outdoor photography, and working on Pinterest projects with my wife. We engage in the “Chattanooga 400” via I-75 two or three times a year to visit relatives in Tennessee. My favorite part of work is meeting private landowners, discussing their forest management objectives, and learning why they love their little piece of Florida.
