My name is Dave Conser. People slaughter my last name, but you can remember that it’s the first part of “conser-vation”! I’ve been working for the Florida Forest Service as the County Forester who serves Alachua County, for 31 years. I like my job, obviously! I truly enjoy meeting landowners and homeowners, and looking over their forests and trees. I celebrate how every single person and every single piece of land is unique – there is a wonderful ecology in both people and nature. I assist folks with forest management advice, provide urban forest advice in towns and yards, carry out prescribed (controlled) burning, and provide environmental education. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Forest Management in 1981. I’m a Certified Arborist and a Certified Prescribed Burn Manager. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you.
